MASKS MAKING - MASKAL
In 2014, Anaïs started making handstitched bespoke masks.

She has produced bespoke masks for professional wrestlers, theatre and cabaret performers, artists, DJs, street artists, poets and many more across the UK and beyond.

She also create her own designs and started staging her masks into scenes that are captured through photographs. She introduces masks into the very mundane, or pulls scenes out of her mind which seem surreal but are set in the very spaces that surround us. She is currently collaborating on a project with the artist Hello The Mushroom, and working with various photographers to capture the scenes she envisioned with her masks.

Some of those photographs were exhibited at the PervArt exhibition at the Gallery23 in November 2018 and more of her work (photographed by Claudia Agati and Tolga Akmen) will be featured at the Modern Panic X exhibition in November 2019.

Her masks were worn in the music video of the UK rapper James Indigo, CXNTOUR.

She can be contacted for bespoke orders and ready made masks can be purchased on her ETSY shop MASKAL.
